TomTom ONE gets a makeover – on the inside

TomTom recently announced that all new TomTom ONE units shipping to retailers like TotalPDA will now carry the Global Locate- and Infineon-designed Hammerhead single-die, single-chip GPS solution. This new chip promises better use of resources and reduced system redundancy, thus minimising the need for additional and costly components.

The new 'Hammerhead inside' TomTom ONEs will be available for their European versions, and the high-sensitivity SirF Star III will continue to be used in ONEs sold regionally.
